ResourceMFG created the Manufacturing Employee Opinion Survey to find out what makes these employees tick, and what’s most important to them. They wanted to ask questions that might not be on the minds of manufacturers, but are definitely on the minds of their employees.
In July they surveyed nearly 2,500 employees online. It’s broad-based, across manufacturing sectors, geographic areas and skill sets to get a comprehensive idea. They also hope that the finding can be used to inform strategic workforce decisions.
In a sneak peak of the findings, they released what manufacturing workers think are most important when looking for a job. Here’s how nine subjects ranked:

- Enjoy the Work
- Good Supervisor
- Opportunity
- Shift
- PTO
- Recognition
ResourceMFG is looking to conduct this survey annually to see if trends emerge. This will allow them and their clients to proactively manage this part of the business.
