OMAX Abrasive Waterjet Systems
OMAX Corporation is the leading provider of precision-engineered, computer-controlled, multi-axis (X-Y) abrasive jet systems for use in the manufacturing environment. Established in 1993, OMAX’s objective was to harness state-of-the-art technologies to make high-pressure abrasive jet machining practical, affordable, and easy to use. OMAX revolutionized the industry by creating the OMAX Jet Machining Center, the first truly affordable system to offer abrasive jet capabilities with consistent, precision results.
OMAX founders, Dr. John Cheung and Dr. John Olsen, developed and combined new motion control technology and proprietary software to engineer an abrasive waterjet that meets the needs of today’s manufacturers. Over the years, OMAX has brought together the leading innovators and experts in abrasive waterjet technology, fostering an environment that promotes teamwork and a shared dedication to excellence. OMAX developed a patented easy-to-use “Compute First-Move Later” conversational programming system that is built directly into the controls of our abrasive waterjets. The capabilities of OMAX machines constantly evolve to meet the diverse and changing needs of today’s manufacturers.
A waterjet is made up of several critical key components, such as the high pressure pump, the nozzle, and control software. OMAX designs, manufactures, and supports their waterjet systems all from our production facilities in Kent, Washington. Since everything is designed and built under one roof, service and support is streamlined and issues are quickly resolved.
OMAX is the only manufacturer to guarantee free OMAX operating software upgrades for life to owners of our premium OMAX line of waterjets. This guarantee saves our owners thousands of dollars over the life of their investment, but more importantly ensures that they will receive all benefits derived from software enhancements. Upgrades are implemented to improve accuracy, provide faster cutting speeds, enhance system monitoring, and provide additional waterjet cutting capabilities.
