KENT, Wash., February 15, 2017 — The OMAX® MicroMAX® JetMachining® Center has been named a finalist by R&D Magazine in the field of Mechanical/Materials for the magazine’s highly regarded 2016 R&D 100 Awards. Such a nomination places OMAX among an elite community of companies and individuals dedicated to the advancement of science and technology.
The MicroMAX has expanded abrasive waterjet cutting technology into the meso-micro machining world and is capable of producing extremely tiny high-precision parts in virtually any material. With its announcement, R&D Magazine recognizes that the innovative qualities of the MicroMAX stand out in a field of many other equally advanced technologies.

The R&D 100 Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of Invention,” continue to identify newly introduced revolutionary technologies. Since 1963, these awards have recognized and celebrated the top technology products of the year.
Past winners have included innovative new materials, high-energy physics, sophisticated testing equipment, manufacturing equipment, biomedical products, consumer items and chemistry breakthroughs that cover industry, education and government-sponsored research. This year’s R&D 100 Awards Winners will be presented with their honors on November 3, 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland (Washington, D.C.).
