Markforged Metal X
MarkForged has released the new Metal X. This incredible breakthrough in metal 3D printing makes it possible for the average shop owner to create metal parts overnight at a fraction of the cost. This innovative new technology creates robust, metal parts with a method accessible to all manufacturers and engineers. Get started today creating injection molds, working prototypes, and industrial grade parts.
(Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing)
ADAM allows you to dramatically reduce the amount of time to go from design to strong metal parts using this accessible and compact process. ADAM prints parts using a bound metal powder rod that changes into a dense metal part in just one quick and easy step. Bulk sintering allows for growth of crystals through all axes to give parts the best mechanical properties possible in all directions. Unlike more traditional subtractive manufacturing processes or DMLS, ADAM is able to create parts with unique geometries such as closed-cell honeycomb infill. Parts can be created with a closed cell inner core encased in a solid outer shell.
Metal X Advantages
Print with titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, A2 and D2 tool steel as well as inconel.
Print with Precision
You design your parts with specific defined tolerances and your 3D printer should deliver them. Now with Markforged cloud based 3D printing software, Eiger, you specify the tolerances and Metal X will scan the part throughout the printing process to ensure it’s holding to the defined spec. Should an error be found Metal X will alert you and allow you the opportunity to remotely cancel the print job, saving you time and material.
Gone are the days of waiting until a part is finished to measure accuracy and make sure you have a good part. With the new Eiger software package, available with the Metal X, a laser displacement sensor attached to the print head can scan parts at any point in the printing process. Check a critical dimension before spending unnecessary resources on finishing an unacceptable part. Inspection is yet another advantage of a fully integrated 3D printing software package designed by 3D printing experts.
Large Prints with High Resolution
The incredible build volume on the new Metal X provides aerospace, industrial, automotive and others a better way to quickly create integral components, custom pieces and necessary spare parts. With 50 micron resolution layer height your parts will come off the printer with the most precise details possible which will further resolve after completion of the sintering process.
