The X7 from Markforged delivers parts that are unmatched in the industry for their incredible strength and versatility, all while staying ultra-lightweight. The X7 makes continuous carbon fiber parts that are far superior to aluminum in many ways. These parts are 40% lighter and yet stronger than their aluminum counterparts making them perfect for tooling, jaws and end-user parts. In addition the X7 can make ready-to-use parts at a fraction of the price of aluminum components, 20X cheaper to be exact.
3D printing from Markforged is helping companies throughout New England reduce downtime by creating replacement parts, new components, and tooling in one day. One example part a customer ran was costing $285.61 for a traditional machined part but was completed on the X7 for just $9.45. It’s hard to compete with a 97% savings.
The unique dual nozzle print system on the X7 supports both continuous carbon fiber printing as well as Kevlar reinforcement. In addition the X7 completes mid-print laser inspection scans to ensure dimensional accuracy on the most critical tolerances thus reducing the chance for a scrap part and lost time. The built-in laser micrometer scans the print bed with 1um accuracy and creates a contour map of its surface. This allows it to perfectly set the nozzle height and make on the fly adjustments to changes in topography.
